Peace of mind for you and your loved ones

Epilepsy can start at any age and there are over 600,000 people in the UK with epilepsy.

There are many different types of epilepsy and many different types of seizures. Some people require continued hospital-based treatments. Some people cannot control their seizures through medication.

We are proud to be partnering with My Medic Watch to provide innovative smartwatch apps that can detect irregular movements (as often exhibited in certain types of seizures), raise alarms, and provide help and support to keep users safe.

Users can set up key contacts such as loved ones and caregivers who are notified when the smartwatch detects an incident or when the user raises the alarm themselves. If a contact does not respond, then we can pick up the alarm in our Monitoring Centre and escalate all alarms through the emergency services if required.

Loved ones and carers can download the Carer My Medic Watch app to their smartphones. They can see whether the user has background monitoring activated, and live Heart Rate data (if monitoring is activated). Loved ones and carers will also have the ability to pick up alarms if available, and see live updates including the user’s location if alarms are activated both in the app and via SMS messages.

The My Medic Watch app uses complex algorithms to detect irregular movements and also captures heart rate information in real time once the incident is detected.
